Reported by IANS: Computer-based Common Admission Test (CAT), which was marred by technical problems, will not be scrapped, IIM Bangalore (IIM-B) Director Pankaj Chandra says.

According to The Indian News  Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) Wednesday said the pen and pencil format of Common Admission Test (CAT) is history but assured that all the aggrieved students who could not appear for the test during the scheduled test window will get another chance in mid-January.
“We are conducting a retest in mid-January for all those students who could not take the CAT. This test will also be computer based,” said Sameer Barua, director of IIM-Ahmedabad.

This has come as a shocker for me. To say the least, I am sad, disappointed and confirmed that I am not gonna appear for this test anymore in my life. I am dejected.

Disgusting!!! only people who could not appear are given a chance of re-test? How fair is it? And what about people like me who faced the technical problems and PC restarts? Dont knw what to say and expet in results.

Well, I am also personally taken aback when I heard the news first. All I can say is this test for unfair advantage to some people and IIMs should have notices it.

What’s the point in making fuss over it now. IIMs are not going to defere their decision. I hear there is some protest going on at IIM A gates. Is it true?
