Updates on CAT & Test delay.

Submitted by Ameya Pimpalgaonkar on November 28, 2009 – 3:09 pm No Comment

Update 2 (10:30am, 29/11) :

Prometric has announced that today some centers will be closed for repairing work, so that problems do not occur again. Around 13 cities & several centers are affected, though Bangalore has the largest number of centers closed.

Affected students will be accommodated in remaining days of CAT schedule.

Please check the official announcement - www.catiim.in

Update 1 (10am, 29/11) :

The CAT fiasco continues on second day. Some exam centers today decided not to conduct exam. Other’s have rescheduled today’s exam. I have my exam scheduled for Monday at Mumbai center. I did receive confirmation from Prometric ‘your exam is confirmed’. Hopefully, they don’t reschedule it.

A lot of students have left CAT centers in the middle of exam or even before appearing to exam as poor management continues to test patience of students.

As the was online exam is being conducted for the first time, some cities have very limited infrastructures & hence limited centers. A lot of CAT aspirants are traveling to the nearest city for exam. Some of them even have other academic exams & would be unable to retake CAT.

Let’s hope this number does not grow to the extent IIMs decide to go back to pencil-paper format.
