Now, pay Income Tax at ATMs

Paying income tax is getting simpler day by day. On tuesday, finance secretary made revolutionary announcements by initiating a new service by which, one can pay income tax directly from ATM machines. However, the facility as of now is available at corporation bank ATMs only. People who are having accounts with corporation bank may have a handson on this new service.

Corporation Bank chairman & Managing Director aslo stated that, customers will be provided a printed slip having a challan number that might come handy for records. He also said that Bank has tied up with  I-T department & NSDL where a customer can view his payment records online.

S S N Moorthy, chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes made it clear that within next one to two years, all major banks will offer the income tax service for their customers.

Indeed, after RBI’s announcement of major city malls providing urgent cash facility, this news has set a new benchmark and vouch for the flexibility that government wants to offer to their citizens.
