Excel 2010 tricks: Convert a column into row quickly

Use following approach for converting a column in excell sheet into a row. This functionality will help you immensly while preparing extensive reports like sales reports. Once we are done creating the report we feel that representing the data in horizontal format which may be more redable or your manager just wants that way. Do not worry and mess things with cutting and copying them. Use following tip and get rolling.

First step is to select the column that you want to convert into row. Remeber this is also applicable if you want to convert a row into a column. We are going to use something called as “Transpose

Step 1:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Go to the sheet where you want to past this row as a column and select “Paste Special”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3: Remember to check the check-box “Transpose” and hit “ok”. You are done!
