How to check active connections to your PC

Submitted by Alpesh Chaudhari on May 31, 2010 – 8:30 pm No Comment

If you think your PC’s security has been compromised, there is a quick way to find out if someone has connected remotely to your PC and trying to fetch sensitive data like credit card details, bank details, email passwords and so on. Either you can go to the Firewall setting and check in the logs for the repetitive IP address. Or there is a simpler way to check it.

Go to Start –> Run –> type ”cmd” to run command prompt. Type following command

netstat -n

This will show you all the active connections to your PC. Make sure that this also includes IP address of your Internet service provider. Finding out ISP IP is not that difficult task. You need to check for other suspicious IP address that are not in the series of your ISP or any other service provider.
