There's nothing wrong in learning ABAP being a fresher. ABAP is a Business application programming language. If you know SQL well, you will feel right at home while working with ABAP. There are SAP Std. tables which are populated with business data. All we have to do is work with them. But if you learn it from anywhere then It would be of no use. Companies don't take fresher unless they have done a course at SAP followed by a certification. I hope that answers your question.
